While we’re not hung up about rules and legalese, we feel the need to be clear.

This blog was started to engage in dialogue around healthy livestyles for those over 55. It is not intended to provide unequivocal direction in terms of diet, exercise or other parts of daily life – but rather a guide to sensible changes that may make a person’s life fuller, healthier, happier and ultimately longer if that is the wish.

We welcome everyone’s opinion except those who yell, bully or come here simply to sell things. You are invited to ‘agree to disagree’ or to point out the errors in our thinking. If you become rude, abrasive, or hostile, your comments will disappear. And we’ll hope your mother disciplines you appropriately.

Product Reviews

We have been asked on occasion to undertake exercise and diet product reviews. If you think there is a genuine good fit, send a personal e-mail explaining why this site should participate. Canned pitches will be ignored and other presentations may also be turned down. Convince us – the world of weight loss is filled with useless products designed largely to part people from their money.

This site does not intend to make any recommendations that you can’t find easily by visiting Google. We believe that maintaining a healthy lifestyle is not rocket-science, but we also understand that every person is different and has a unique set of circumstances. Nobody should follow any fitness or diet advice without the knowledge and approval of their doctor. If you live in the U.S. and want knowledgeable diet advice, find a dietitian in your state at www.eatright.org. In Canada, follow the new Canada Food Guide and advice found at Health Canada.
